Description

Persian Soft Keyboard is an Android app that features complete Farsi support keyboard, note pad and translator (translation requires internet access).

It has good prediction dictionary for Persian words (including slang).

To begin using the Persian note pad press 'Menu' and select 'Add note'. While editing a note, long-press the trackball to switch input methods.

The Persian Soft Keyboard works in any IME-aware application. To configure it, go to the 'Locale & text' menu under 'Settings'. To switch between input methods, long-press the trackball in an edit field.

This app is meant only for people who can already display Persian on their phones, but have no means of input. If you see squares instead of Persian characters in an application, you need to install a Persian font and change the font for that application. How to do that depends on your particular Android phone's hardware and software.

Note: As any other soft keyboard, Persian Soft Keyboard can see anything you type when it is the active keyboard. As the developer declares, the app does not do anything with this information except to use it to guess what you're typing. Problem

Stock android-based devices do not have support for Persian/Farsi languages as yet (up to version 4.0) but there are some custom modified androiddevices that some-how support Persian languages. What I mean by Persianlanguage support is the functionality to write and read Persian content.Since I have published one keyboard app for Persian language, manypeople have contacted me saying 'app doesn't work' or how to installPersian fonts on their android devices. Here I am going to share someworkarounds on how to install, setup, and configure Persian language support (orany other language) on your android device. This article might be inadvanced level so you might ask Android-geek-guy to do it for you!

Persian keyboard for Android

Persian for AnySoftkeyboard is a Persian language keyboard layout for android devices.It can run on all android devices from v1.5+. You can see below app's screenshots:

Usage

The key and main step to enable Persian language support is to have'rooted' devices. What does it mean? It means that you should be able tomodify android core files (including font files). No matter what android device youhave (HTC, LG, Samsung, Nexus, Motorola etc),all of them are not-rooted. What does that mean? It means you cannotmodify/install/add any font on your device. So no Persian languagesupport! .. but wait! Nothing is impossible right? Somegeeks have already found some solutions!

  • Get Arabic or Persian fonts from hereor here.

  • Connect your device to the computer and run following commands (wth?)

  • Transfer fonts from /home/pi3ch/fonts/ to /system/fonts directory on your device and reboot.

  • Go to Google Play and search forAnySoftKeyboard, downloadand install it on your device.

  • Search for 'Persian for AnySoftKeyboard' on Play, download andinstall on your device.

  • Select AnySoftKeyboard as your default keyboard and choose Persian asyour keyboard in AnySoftKeyboard settings (Needhelp?).
